HERCULES

Hanna Ranch Elementary School is an elementary school located in Hercules, CA. This places the school’s location near the San Pablo Bay coast. It’s also considered part of the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay area. The school is the home of the Hanna Ranch Cougars, which is the school mascot.

The school is identified as one of the Gold Ribbon Schools by the California Department of Education. Mr. Greg Santiago is the school’s principal. The focus of the school is to provide academic proficiency as well as cultural awareness.

In recent years, Hanna Ranch Elementary School has focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Arts, Mathematics). Therefore a new addition to the school is what’s known as the Creation Station. It incorporates various forms of cutting-edge technology including 3D printers, coding robots, and a laser cutter for students to learn from.

The grades taught at the school include kindergarten and go all the way through the fifth grade. The primary is categorized as grades one through three. In addition, intermediate includes grades four and five. Student schedules include lunch as well as a lunch recess. Depending on the grade level, two additional recess periods are provided.

The school is part of the West Contra Costa Unified School District, which is based in Richmond, California. The district manages a student population of over 32,000.
